Seeing the Fugitive: Site-Specific Installation by Suzanne Silver. Silver uses "fugitive" materials such as powder, dust, and metal leaf, and more lasting materials such as wood, metal, and concrete to find unexpected connections between words, objects, and places. C'mon Everybody, Get Up! New Works by Terence Hammonds. Colors and shapes of all kinds come alive in Masterpiece Quilts from the Shelburne Museum, featuring more than 35 hand-made quilts dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. Founded by Domino Sugar heiress Electra Havemeyer Webb in 1947, the Shelburne, Vermontûbased museum regularly lends out pieces from its collection, like an unknown MennoniteÆs quilt of concentric squares. These are examples of textile history, the means by which countless women expressed their emotions, detailed their family history, and commemorated important events.
